How to make Spiced Apple Liqueur

Updated: Oct 12, 2022

This recipe makes 5 x 250ml bottles and 1 cup of fruit, and take 2 - 4 weeks to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 litre (8 cup) glass or ceramic jar

  • 1 can (400g) pie apples

  • 250ml Red Elk Gluhwein Mulled Wine Syrup

  • 1 1/2 cups brandy

  • 750ml dry white wine (eg. sauvignon blanc)

  • Small 250ml bottles x 5

Method

Mix all ingredients together in glass/ ceramic jar. Store jar somewhere cool and dark for 2-4 weeks, depending how strong you want your liqueur.

After 2-4 weeks, strain the liqueur into a large bowl or jug and set aside the strained fruit. The fruit can be used to accompany Christmas desserts.

Using a funnel and a smaller measuring jug, pour remaining liqueur into bottles. Decorate and gift.
